The Thyssen – Bornemisza Museum is housed in the palace of Villahermosa, and has one of the most important private collections in this century with fifty masterpieces of universal art.
Its 48 rooms are organized in chronological order and house more than 800 paintings and sculptures, including early Italian and Dutch art, German Renaissance art, 17th century Dutch paintings, 19th century American paintings and impressionist works, German expressionist works, Russia constructivist art and pop art.
Some of the artists on display include Durero, Tiziano, Tintoretto, Murillo, Renoir, Cezanne, Matisse, Munch, Dalí, Miro, Kandinsky and Picasso.
